Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Giving Notice

I have been working for my current employer, a private corporation, about four months. I signed a contract at the time of employment stating that in order to ''terminate the contract'' I would need to give 30 days written notice. I have accepted another job, and I would like to start in two weeks instead. I get paid once a month at the end of the month. So, if I give a two week notice and work for two weeks, could my employer not pay me for those two weeks since I violated the contract.

Re: Giving Notice

Most likely not since the Texas Pay Day act requires the employer to pay an employee their last pay check within the statutory time periods after the last day of work.
