Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Labor Laws

I work for an affiliate (family owned )for a large company. Around December of 2008 Do to the slow down in our industry we were told we would all be going to 32 Hours per week. I am on salary. I then started working 32 hours per week. We were told that this woruld last for approxmently two months here it is June and it is still going on. However it is at an at will basis. One week they might have me work 40 the next 32 and so on. Its however they choose. This past Memeorial day we were off and it is one of our paid holdiays but I did not get paid for it. Antoher issue is not all employees are on this some are back to 40 every week. Some got paid for the Holiday. Some did not. Also I have 1 week vacation and was told we are not allowed to take it at this time. It was due to me in Febuary. This seems extremly illegal to me. Please advise

Re: Labor Laws

Have you called the Texas Workforce Commission? depending on size of company, different rules may apply...but if company is having financail problems, wage problems are not covered by insurance so you may need to work it out by talking to owners..
