Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Was terminated from a contract job before contract expired

I signed a one year contract with a company called Western Medical Evaluators in Denton, TX. I signed this contract in Jan 2006 and it was good for one year. I was making $2 per call from home to check on the bill status for workers compensation claims. I was required to have long distance and keep notes through remote access. However, just recently they decided they needed someone in house instead of at home because it would be better for the company. They did ask me if I was interested and they would pay me $8.50 an hour. I told them no because I have children and that putting them in daycare would not justiy only making $8.50 an hour. Can they do this to me? What is the point of having a contract if they break it? Please let me know if I could possibly have a cas here?

Also, I am not eligible for unemployment because I did not work enough in 2005. Please respond via email. Thank you!!

Its clearly a breach of contract case. Does your contract allow them to terminate without cause or at will? If no then you're good. We do cases like that all the time. Feel free to contact us if you wish at7137714775
