Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Libel

I moderate a website with about 1500 members. I had the unfortunate task of banning a member for unacceptable behavior. This person opened another website that was to be dedicated to the same subject matter as ours...British television. The website has now been turned into a myriad of threads that are dedicated to libelous statements against me. Things such as I'm a drug addict, that I need to get clean. I've never taken drugs in my life. The website was formed under an LLC out of Herndon, Virginia. Is there anything that I can do to force a cease and desist?

Re: Libel

If it is really bad enough to spend the money, yes, you can probably get injunctive relief through the federal or state courts. Be prepared to prove the falsity of his statements, and keep in mind that, if your web activities have made you a "public figure," you will have to show that the statements are made with knowledge of their falsity and a reckless disregard for the truth.

You won't be able to do this one without a lawyer, probably.
