Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Personal Training in the home.

I am a new Physical Fitness Personal Trainer and I am wanting to Train in my clients home. I was wanting to know what I should do to cover myself in case of an injury while training? Will It be covered under their homeowners Insurance or do I need to get Insurance of my own or Can I get a waiver written up and have them sign it.

Re: Personal Training in the home.

You are only liable for injuries caused by your negligence. The homeowner's policy of your client would not cover injuries caused by your negligence in their home. A "waiver" (contrary to popular opinion) is totally ineffective to waive a person's rights to sue for injuries caused by the negligence of another. I would suggest you contact your insurance agent for advice on obtaining a liability policy written specifically for your situation. The cost should be nominal.
