Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

My home half belongs to my ex husband who just passed away. How do I now have the house put in my name and remove his name from the ownership?

If your ex had a will, you'll need to have the will probated, and whomever received his share of the house would then need to deed it to you. If he had no will, then things get a little more complicated. You would have to prove the identity of the statutory heirs (usually the children), and once proven, those heirs could then deed the property to you.
