Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

poor real estate inspection

My home inspector never said anything about faulty wiring (possible fire hazard) in my attic, non grounded GFI plugs in my bathroom, fire damage in my attic and improperly vented bathroom fans. not to mention miss-wired switches in various rooms. Do I have any recorse concering the fact that he didn't even seem to go in my attic or do a complete inspection of the property before i bought it, not to mention the fact that I could have argued for a,lower price concerning all of these issues and the possible loss of re-sale value for the fire damage?

Re: poor real estate inspection

If there is no immediate problem and if the property was to code at the time it was built, then there is probably no liability. Your remedy would be in small claims court and you need provable damages. Also, check your seller's disclosure to make sure everything was disclosed. It is possible you may have recourse against the seller.
