Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

forms for probate

1) could you please tell me what is the first step to having a will probated - i.e., are there any forms that must be submitted with the original will?

2) is a will valid if it is handwritten and not witnessed or notarized?

thank you

2. Yes, so long as it's entirely in the testator's handwriting, and you can locate two disinterested witnesses that can recognize and identify the handwriting.
