What percentage is inheritance tax in Texas? Is there a way to get around this tax? Is there an amount that is tax free?

Texas inheritance tax is a function of federal inheritance tax.

The tax bite is reduced in the same way you reduce the federal tax.

The estate must be substantial before the inheritance tax takes effect. If the estate is over $600,000 including insurance, you might wish to discuss the matter with a lawyer.
