Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Self Made Wills

Just how legal are self written wills? Our estate is very simple and we have only one child. Wouldn't this be the simpliest and most money saving way of doing it?

Re: Self Made Wills

You may obtain "simple" will forms at most stationery stores. If you have a $.50 estate, use a $.50 form.

If, on the other hand, you care about what you are doing, what about a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care, or a Living Will, or a Directive to Physicians, and related documents which most people find important.

You may have a small estate right now, but will it grow and will your self-written will take maximum advantage of the estate and gift tax laws?

If you don't have the answers to these questions consider getting professional help. It is cheaper than you think.
