Legal Question in Personal Injury in United Kingdom

My friend was involved in a car accident which wasn't his fault and the insurance company don't believe him, as he is an 18 year old boy, although he's one of the safest drivers I know, the company are now telling him he won't be able to get insured on another car, as his was written off in the accident, what are his options?
