Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in United Kingdom

Probate Registry Queries.

My deceased mother-in-law's

name is misspelled on her divorce papers. The 'Legal Executive' told my husband that the probate registry, needs the true name of his mother when she died. This 'legal executive' has the death certificate(name is spelt correctly there).

Re: Probate Registry Queries.

As long as the Will and Death Certificate are the same name (spelling), the Will is probated under the correct name. The Complaint can say that she was also known as "misspelled name". The divorce papers are only important if a claim is made against the estate by the former husband.
