Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah

Ex boyfriend and I shared an apartment I left 5 months prior to the lease ending because of the home becoming a hostile environment for my son and I. Was charged with trespassing about 1 month after I left. Charges were dropped. Now, 2 years later I am being summoned for the apartment fees that were due after my ex left, he did not pay the last month. I am being charged because I was also on the lease. Can charges be dropped because I was not living there the last 5 months, plus almost got charged for "trespassing"?

If you were on the lease you will probably have to pay, unless you can find boyfriend. If you find him, cross file against him for indemnification.
