Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

medical bills ex-wife piles up

My ex-wife piles up the medical bills for 3 years then hands them to me and expects me to pay from the insurance statement not the acual dr statement. Does she have a certain amount of time to give them to me to pay before I don't have any obligation because of her not me?

Re: medical bills ex-wife piles up

The terms of the divorce decree govern, otherwise she has to provide them within a reasonable period. 3 years is not reasonable. She also must provide a copy of the actual billing, showing the out of pocket portion which is to be paid by her and you.
