Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia

I bought a horse in Feb. with a payment contract. The horse didn't work out and seller said to sell her. I did. I still owe her acouple of hundred dollars and May would be the last payment due. She now wants the horse back instead of the money. And says she will charge me with selleing a horse that wasn't mine. She has posted a ad on craigslist with my name and number stating that someone will, be charged with horse thieft unless she gets her . I was told I have 24 hours to get the horse back to her or I will be arrested. Do I have any rights?

Yes, you have the right to tell this "high-handed" one the following:

1. That her message on craigslist amounts to B.S., and

2. Furthermore, if she attempts to have you charged with anything,

you will countercharge her with malicious prosecution.and possibly

other offenses.
