Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
If I was using the USPS to trade goods and I sent my goods and never got the goods I was promised, what can I do?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Well, let's see whether you can clarify whether the goods you sent via USPS were actually received by the individual who was apparently suppose to reciprocate by sending you his goods. What evidence do you have that this person (or persons) actually received your goods.?
If your evidence is solid that he received them but he continues to refuse
to pay you (whether it be in barter or money), then you will likely be faced with filing a lawsuit against this individual to recover either the goods you sent or a judgment for their value.
However, if the goods never arrived at their designated destination, then your remedy may lie with the USPS, particularly, if these goods were insured.
