Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

I received a call two weeks ago from a debt collector. It was for a medical bill for giving birth to my daughter who is now 4.5 years old. While on the phone she asked me to make a full payment or I can do a monthly payment. I told her I am not able to do a full payment but can do a monthly payment of $50. I have since learned that the statute of limitations had expired for the collection. Did I just re-open it by agreeing to a monthly payment? No payment has been made yet. Thank you so much for any help.

Yes, very likely you did by reaffirming the debt via your agreement to begin making monthly payments (my opinion).
