Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Legally is a Gun Broken into 5 pieces and w/o firing pin still a gun?

Can a gun enhancement be applied with a inoperable gun that was purposely broken into 5 pieces and without a firing pin?

Broken gun was found in defendant's empty apartment in a drawer. Gun pieces were taken to a lab and was reconstructed to fire and was used to add several years to defendant's drug charge.

There's no way to answer your question without

more information regarding the relevant facts and law applicable to the defendant's charge(s).

The attorney who represented the defendant in this matter presumably has this information and ideally should be the one to whom you address this question.
