Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

child support payments

My husband's ex-wife took him to juv/domestic court for an increase in child support. Our lawyer determined that a number of years ago, the child support case (maybe appealed??) ended up in the circuit court and kind of stayed there. So the juv/domestic court judge dismissed the case and the original child support order amount remains in effect. Our lawyer sent us a letter recapping what happened in court and indicated that in order for the case to move back to juv/domestic court or in order for a new order to be entered that my husband's ex-wife would have to ''jump through a number of hoops'' to have this done. What hoops would she have to jump through?

Re: child support payments

It appears she would need to refile any claim.
