Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Clarification on Entrustment Agreement

Presently a joint custody case with mother having physical custody.... we are in the process of changing the custody order for son to live with father..lawyer drew up an Entrustment Agreement for the purpose of getting him registered in school and for medical purposes until final custody papers are done through the courts (which it is in the process at this time) Mother believes by signing this she is signing away all parental rights to her son....can you please reiterate that is NOT the purpose of this document?

Re: Clarification on Entrustment Agreement

You should consult with a Virginia lawyer and give that lawyer the opportunity to read the entire document about which you have questions. No lawyer can know the purpose or effect of a legal document by the title of document without first reviewing the actual, entire document. Many lawyers offer free initial consultations. The Virginia State Bar offers a referral to a lawyer for a half-hour consultation for $35. The local bar association in your area may offer a similar service. If you are unable to afford an attorney, you may qualify for free legal services from one of the pro bono legal services organizations in your area such as Legal Services Corporation of Legal Aid.
