Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Laws of divorce

Is there a statue of limitation on seperation. I have been legally seperated 8 years May,2002. Do I still have to go through the lengthy procedures? If so, what is your opinion on ordering forms from internet and doing it myself. Only 2 things would change from seperation papers. He agrees.

Thank you.

Re: Laws of divorce

You know it really does depend on your particular situation

and the website that you are referring to. Do you have minor

children? If so, forget it! DO NOT use the internet to

obtain a divorce. If not, and if you have NO property to

distribute I find that some of the internet forms are

comprehensive, but be VERY CAREFUL PLEASE! I'd hate to have

you download something from the internet that is woefully

inadequate. It might be worth your while to get all the

documents in order and ready to file and then pay an attorney

one hour to look over the documents.
