Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Privacy issue

I work in a local gym. They now have a requirement that employees must make a certain number of ''friends'' a month by meeting members. We are also required to keep a spreadsheet on their names, characteristics and then brief our supervisors. Something feels wrong about this. Am I right?

You feel, perhaps, like you're maybe

spying on these folks? Indeed, perhaps, you are, but I see nothing illegal in it. (Ethical considerations, of course, may be a different matter entirely.)
