Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

FMLA/Labor Laws

My company ''Let me go'' due to my doctor putting me on maternity leave.

My company, Professional Beauty Supply, says that I wasn't eligable for FMLA because i have only been employeed with them for 10 months even after working 1250 hours and even if i did work 12 months with 1250 hours that they do not fall under the covered employers for the Family Medical Leave Act.

I am on maternity leave due to doctors orders. What can i do?

Re: FMLA/Labor Laws

Yes, an employee must have worked 1250 hours within the past 12 months to be eligible for FMLA leave. And the employer must employ at least 50 employees within a radius of 75 miles of its headquarters or main place of business in order to fall under mandatory compliance with FMLA.
