Can anything be done?

I work as a dental assistant and while i was in the room with a patient he made sexual comments to me and then proceeded to pinch my buttocks. I then reported this to my employer who did nothing but make joke out of the whole situation. Can anything be done in this situation?

If the pincher is not a co-worker or

the employer himself, I believe federal anti-discrimination laws based upon sexual harassment in the workplace are not applicable. However, what you've describe would certainly appear to be a battery at the very least, and therefore a crime which you might want to consider reporting to the police---should it happen again.
