Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

Intentional Tort in Virginia

Does anybody know the statute of limitations for an intentional tort in Virginia? Also, If the tort happened in Virginia, but the tortfeasors live in New Jersey, what state would the case be filed?

Thanks.

Re: Intentional Tort in Virginia

Depends on the tort. Battery is one year. Generally speaking, you can sue where the tort happened or where the defendant lives.
