Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

Hello, I live in virginia & in 1999 i had a car wreck ( my wife @ that time, now divorced ) cancelled my insurance just weeks before the accident without me knowing. I recieved a letter several month later saying i had no insurance. I refused to pay the $ 18,000. then several month later i recieved another letter from a lawyer stating I had a judgment against me & that my drivers license were revoked until I paid it. Is there a statute of limitation for this ? Please help me i've been without license for 11 yrs now

Thank You

Bob

Assuming the judgment for the $18K was entered against you in

a Virginia circuit court in Millennial year 2000, it could remain on the books

until 2020 and then be renewed for another 20

Nevertheless, it would seem sensible under the circumstances described to independently verify with the DMV as well as with the court involved the information which you claim to have been given in a letter from some lawyer apparently more than 10 years ago and whether in fact it was true and accurate at that time as well as still valid information at the present time.
