entering a rental unit

can you enter a rental house if the tenant is not answering calls or the door and you know they are there , they are behind on rent . We also need to check on a possiable leak around the chimney

Re: entering a rental unit

If your lease with this tenant gives you the right to enter the unit without their permission to check on things like possible chimney leaks, then you can enter. Otherwise no.

(And if they're behind in their rent, it may be time to serve them with a 5 day pay or quit notice.)
