Re: Funding a Trust

I assume that you mean you already have a trust?

I cannot imagine why someone would want to set up a trust without an attorney, especially when there are less expensive attorneys around, such as myself. It is not worth the risk of getting it wrong, since it can only cost several hundred dollars to set up a trust with an attorney like myself who does not charge too much.

However, if you already have a trust, you simply need some contract or document showing that the property has been transferred. For something as major as a house I still don't know that I would do it myself, but you can do it by simply documenting that you are donating the house into the trust, and the trustee is signing to accept and receive the property on behalf of the trust.
