Re: injury

Dear Sir:

Technically in Virginia you have 30 days to report your injury to your Employer. Practically, if you do not report it the same day or at least the next day, you run a big risk that the Employer will claim it never happened. Thus, one should always report an accident immediately. If the claim is denied, then you should file it with the Virginia Workers Compensation Commission. You have two (2) years from the date of the accident to file it with the Virignia Workers Compensation Commission. You should also seek immediate medical attention for the injury. The longer you wait the harder it is to establish "medical caustion" between the accident and the injury.
