Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Washington

Wage garnishment

Washington state wage garnishment. July the amount of exemption changed but the company garnishing my wages did not notify my workplace so they were not using up to date info. They have been deducting too much from July to Dec. Can I do anything to recoup the money?

Re: Wage garnishment

Possibly. Is this a garnishment for child support? If so, contact DCS and ask for a conference board. If this is for another debt (not child support) then assemble your proof and tell the company that is doing the garnishment to recalculate the amount coming out.

Joyce Heritage is very good at debt relief work. You can find her at wsba.org under lawyer directory.

Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
