Guardianship Ad Litum

16yr old mom of preemie baby boy, 3 1/2 wks old in Intensive Care due to lack of prenatal care during entire middle trimester of pregnancy 10/07 - 1/08, after being sent by her mother from AK to WA, delivery 1/31/08, maternal G-parents delayed medical care, they are her guardians. History of abuse in her AK home, sent to abusive home in WA with G-parents where infant born. Can her G-parents or her mother prevent her from leaving WA with baby and returning to AK to live with family of 16yr old father of baby, legally? Unable to support herself at this time so doesn't qualify for emmancipation. Guardianship Ad Litum by father of baby's family? What can we do to help? Both young parents are required to be physically in the presense of G-parents at all times, baby's mom not allowed to make phone calls from home, calls blocked...emails monitored, no transportation without G-parents attendance.

What you describe makes for a very complicated situation. I am literally allowed 3,000 characters to answer questions posed on this website, but based upon what you write, there is no way I can post anything adequate in that amount of space.

What I can say is that this will come down to a fight between the maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as the possible appointment of three guardians ad litem ("GAL") if needed. One for each parent and one for the baby.
