Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Washington

Brand/name copyright info

I have a product/brand that is not officially copyrighted, but it is unique. Can I use the (c) symbol while I am in the process of getting it finalized so I can start promotions? What's the process to get something copyrighted?

Re: Brand/name copyright info

You should be aware that you cannot copyright a brand name, you can only seek a trademark. Copyrights are reserved for creative works such as books, music, paintings, etc. If you meant that you would like to trademark your brand name, then you need to apply for registration with United State Patent and Trademark Office. If you would like assistance in doing so, I'd be happy to discuss the issue with you. Contact at the email below.
