Real property, as well as cars, cash and other assets, can be forfeited by law enforcement when used for drug dealing or manufacturing. This is not always enforced, but if it is, the owner has an opportunity to sue for recovery. It is impossible to predict whether or not this will happen in any particular case. If substantial money is owed on a house or other secured asset, however, it is not worthwhile for law enforcement to bother, since the majority of the asset is often owned by the bank via their lien.
