Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

I was on probation and was arrested for a new charge. My probation was revoked and I spent about 5 months in jail. Sentencing is coming up for the new case and I've gotten conflicting opinions in regard to WI Statutes 973.155

Does the time I spent either waiting for my revocation hearing or serving the stayed sentence count toward ime-served on the new case?

Credit towards to new charge for the time you spent awaiting revocation on an unrelated old charge is not a sure thing. While an experienced criminal lawyer representing you on both matters could probably arrange things that way, if you received a signature bond on the new charge or posted bond and got released, you would not normally get credit for that time against the new charge.
