Can visitor visa apply for the work permit?

I have been staying US with a visitor visa for about 6 month. I am going to extend my B2 VISA. Can I apply for work permit with B2?

Unfortunately, you cannot obtain a work permit with a B2, nor even contemplate working for remuneration -- that would be a violation of your visa. Your B2 was for the purpose of tourism -- is there any reason you need to work when you are supposed to be contemplating returning to your country? I need more clarification here.
