Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

My name is shama butt,married for 9yrs and got 2 children(4yr & 8 yrs). My husband bought the house we are staying in 3 years ago which is in my mothers name. My mother had got it from the council. me and my mother have stayed in this house since Nov 1998 to date. My husband pays the mortgage for it which is �358.00. I am not in good terms with my husband.I would like to know if my husband can sell this house legally and how can i put a stoppage for him not to be allowed to sell this property?If we are divorced then what happens? Please let me know as soon as possible.
