sued by collections agency for credit card

i'm being sued for 8999.00 by collections agency for past credit card balance from previous marriage. what are my options for resolving this?

There are several things. You can attempt to negotiate a lower amount to pay. The last thing you want is the judgment on your credit if you ignore the lawsuit completely. You can look into the age of the debt to make sure it�s within the Statute of Limitations. If not, then you may be able to get the suit dismissed. If the debt is owed by your ex as well, you may look to have them added to the complaint. So, several options. Make sure you file an answer, as you dont want that default judgment entered.

James is absolutely right - don't let a default judgment happen.
