Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Division of property

I am seeking a divorce in Arizona. My husband is currently living in Hawaii. I had $25,000 saved before I was married. After we were married my husband received $140,000 from a trust which he kept in a separate bank account. During the course of our marriage, my husband (unknown to me) gambled away almost all of our money. Since our separation, my husband was to receive $180,000 from the trust but refuses to pay any of our joint debts. Because he is in Hawaii I have know way of knowing if he received the money. Can I seek to reclaim the $25,000 that I had prior to the marriage? Is my husband responsible for payment on our joint debts since our separation?

Re: Division of property

There are a couple of theories to seek compensation for your Husband's actions. One is "community waste". Another is "spousal maintenance" or alimony. Please call me if you would like to discuss my potential representation further.
