Legal Question in Disability Law in California

timeframe for filing disability claim for wrongful termination

I am writing for a friend who believes he was wrongfully terminated from his job. He worked for a large LA company and has had 2 paid medical leaves due to illness. Upon returning fromt he 2nd leave, his Dr. documented his disability and requested some accommodations. My friend was unable to work with those accommodations and was fired after about 3-4 weeks. He now would like to approach the company and ask for additional accommodations and his job back. He has read there is a 100 day deadline -- is that all days or week day..and based on what starting date?

Re: timeframe for filing disability claim for wrongful termination

California's anti-discrimination law is far more generous than the federal ADA is and there is a one year statute of limitation from the date of the discriminatory conduct. However, in order for your friend to be qualified, he must be able to perform the essential dutites of his job, with or without reasonable accomodations. If he can't perform them, he has no case.
