Authorized User or Not?!

My question is

I was an authorized user on my mothers credit card.. my mother recently passed away. The credit card company claims that I am now responsible for the account since I did in fact sign the Pre-Enrollment card, my personal information was not on this Pre-Enrollment card; (e.g. social security, name,) it was only addressed to my mother.

I asked the credit card company to remove their listing from my credit report because until recently the credit card company listed me as an authorized user, now since I had this problem with them they have listed me as the primary responsible party?!

My argument is that only my mother was considered for credit worthiness; I wasn�t considered, nor was my credit run for qualification, nor did I submit an application for credit since they didn�t request one.
