Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Defaulted on Auto loan, Bank never repossessed

I purchased a used car in California then moved to Oregon. There was a dispute on the payments due to a confusion on the banks part regarding ins. coverage. It was a small amount but I did not pay it. The car is not worth much and I am in default on the loan, according to the Bank. They never repossessed the vehicle and it's been almost a year. What can I do? I'm not going to pay the bank, they screwed me. Is there is something else I can do to gain the title to the vehicle.

You need to fix the problem. Either prove that you had insurance coverage, or pay for the coverage that they placed on the car. It is in your contract that if you do not have coverage, they can provide it. Since these are "At-risk" policies, they are always at a higher rate.
