Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

no bail warrant

I was arrested on 5/7/07 in San francisco I had a $10,000. warrant in Napa county failure to appear for driving an unregistered car, and no proof of insurance. I was held 5 days, and given a cite release to appear . At the time I had no money, and could not appear. I called Napa court today to try and clear up the matter and they told me I had a ''No Bail'' active warrant. My probation ended in December of 2007. No bail warrant sounds pretty serious and I am afraid of getting locked up again. What should I do about this? I just want to take care of this, my drivers llicense has been suspended because of this. I am afraid to go and get on the court calendar that is what the clerk advised me to do.

Re: no bail warrant

You should retain an attorney to help you with this warrant. If you can not afford an attorney the contact the public defender or the court to set a date for an appearance on the warrant.
