Certified for what?

A person with a felony conviction cannot become a peace officer in California. (Police officers, deputy sheriffs and other law enforcement officials are peace officers.)

The felony conviction will have to be reported to the licensing agency. Whether or not the person can get a professional license will depend on the licensing agency, the nature of the felony conviction, how long ago it happened and other factors.

Depends upon what license or cert you are seeking, hat the conviction is for, and whether the certifying agency is entitled to deny or issue under their rules. They generally have wide discretion in these issues. If 'improperly' denied, you may have appeal rights. If so, feel free to contact me.

You may be able to get the conviction expunged, but that has no effect on professional licensing. If you are interested in doing that, to be able to say 'no' to conviction of most private employment applications, feel free to contact me.
