Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

search warrant

my boyfriend was pulled over, pulled from him vehicle thrown in a black and white, then an undercover officer jumped in his car and left. He was taken to the PD and sat in a cell while they came to my house and tossed. About hour in a half they drive up in his car then searched it. He does not live here, he lived down the street and the warrant had his name on it. I told them that he didn't reside here but they wouldn't listen. And the warrant was date last you, with a slash through 2006 and they put a 7. Do I suppose to see the original warrant because we both received copies? Now is this right?
