DUI Fine paid but mate lied about payment

I received a DUI, did everything I was told to do, paid for fine, (I thought) since I gave it to my mate of 14 years to pay, I worked and he did'nt, I have to money order receipts he gave me, but I was told he cashed them in, and just put on the receipt that he paid the court, now after a domestic violence issues ( he pushed me out of a moving vehicle) I don't know what to do, I can't afford to pay again, as he also had my property in foreclosure that I was unaware of and I had to sell it for a quarter of it's value. help please

Go back to court with the receipts and explain to the court why the fine wasn't paid. Explain that this person cheated you by not paying your house payment etc.
