Legal Question in Family Law in California

CA - Is there such thing as "Sole Legal Custody of Education decisions for a minor child"?

I currently have Joint Legal Custody and 50/50 Joint Physical Custody. My daughter will be leaving her school and starting in a new one, the other parent refuses to talk to me about a new school. Even though its states in our order we both have the Parental right to make major Education decisions together. So my real question is this something a judge would entertain? Or would I be better off asking for Sole Legal Custody?

There's a broad brush on determining the boundaries of joint legal custody. The order can be refined to enable a specific parent to make certain decisions. It would make sense if your ex is unwilling to work with you on the schooling issue to seek orders to enable you to have sole discretion in this regard.
