Legal Question in Family Law in California

My exes atty has missed deadline for final judgment paperwork

My exes lawyer has not filed the final judgment that was due on 11-6-08 with the courts. We already went to court and reached an agreement on the assets. The court is now waiting for the final paperwork from her lawyer. I represented myself and need to know how to proceed. I have tried contacting her atty but she does not return my calls, she has my ex call me and I am not getting the information I need.

You should write a letter to the other atty asking them to please provide the paperwork for the judgment. If you don't hear from them you can file a motion to enforce the judgment and have the judge order them to prepare the documents.

As always please contact a local attorney in your area before taking legal action.

Good luck!

You can prepare the judgment. It might be best to hire an attorney to make sure it is done correctly.
