Legal Question in Family Law in California

Can a lawyer object to the respondents written closing statement? Are there objection codes or a list of objections a person can refer to like lack of foundation or assumes a fact not in evidence?

To research evidence, simply go to the local law library and look for evidence books. You can look up all the code sections in the Code of Evidence for objections. In general you can object to the written closing statement, but make sure that your objections are proper so that you do not look poorly in front of the judge.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
