Legal responsibilty of debt in a divorce

I was divorced from my husband in 1999. Our divorse papers show that he took legal and financial responsibility of our 1986 Honda LX, including the outstanding loan balance. My ex-husband suddenly died in August 2001. I am just now being contacted by the lending institution to collect on past debt from the car. They claim my name is still on the title. Am I responsible for the debt, even if my divorse papers clearly show my ex-husband taking over legal responsibility?
