Can Vetran's Association Disability compensation be used for child support?

I am in the middle of divorce. I receive disability compensation from the Vetrans Association every month. My ex wife and her attorney are trying to include my disability as part of my earned income and are applying it towards child support for our daughter. Is this right? My compensation is tax free and stems from injuries i sustained while enlisted in the US Navy.
